Fast Track in Engineering BS/MS

Program at Texas A&M University

If you plan to pursue graduate studies in engineering, Fast Track can help you take the lead. This program speeds the process if you're committed to earning a master's degree from the Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University. With Fast Track, you can begin graduate studies at the end of your junior year and you can complete the Master of Engineering Degree within one year of receiving your undergraduate degree.

How Fast Track Works

The department has streamlined its program for Fast Track participants by substituting specific graduate courses for selected undergraduate course offerings. Students take these 600-level courses during their junior or senior year, earning graduate credit while fulfilling undergraduate requirements through "credit-by-exam".
Only two courses can be taken in the Fast Track Program. To balance the academic load, it is recommended that students take only one graduate-level course during any one semester.

How to Apply

Fast Track Courses

Undergraduate students in the Fast Track Program take the graduate course and automatically obtain credit for the undergraduate course if a grade of A or B is earned in the graduate course. At most two courses can be used as part of the Fast Track Program.
